Finally! Big Girl Room Reveal!

So it's been more than a year since I last posted about my oldest daughter's room redo. It took me awhile to get it all done, then we found out we were expecting number three and we had to do some reorganizing of all the rooms, including the toy room, to make space for the new bundle that arrived this May.

Life got busy! Customer's orders come first and I'm embarassed to say that I JUST got her letters finished up for her room now. She's four! At this rate, the new baby will be a teenager before I get anything done for her!

But, it's finally ALMOST done. Done enough to show it off. There's  still a few finishing touches I've yet to do. I've been searching high and low for the perfect area rug, so far to no avail. I have the image in my head of what I want but I just can't seem to find it. Also, the light fixtures are still fish from when it was a Finding Nemo room. I would like to replace them with a nice chandelier of some sort. We also need to put the base boards back on. I wanted to paint them white, but the window and door trims are oak so we decided to just leave them.

So without further ado......here it is! Hope you like!

See this blog post to see how I finished the dresser and night stand!

The little pink dress in the frame is the dress I came home from the hospital in and so did my daughter!

  1. Super job! Great ideas for storage; shabby chic furniture, antique door knobs for hanging her jewellery from! Cool! I also love how you have hung the mirror at 'her' height! Genius!

  2. Love it Kristina! I'm sure Devyn thinks it was worth the wait :) So fresh and cheerful, pretty but not prissy, and no characters to outgrow. And I love the mirror hung low for her, might have to copy that! I just hung a pom like those in Kate's room - the green of the letters you did for her - I made a whole bunch for my sister's baby shower. Such a simple an inexpensive accent, and she loves it. I still need to make the other colours though - I like how they look grouped over the bed like you've done.

  3. Thanks! I've almost regretted hanging the mirror there as she can't seem to get enough of herself! lol! Every time we're trying to help her get dressed she won't cooperate very well because she's too busy looking at herself! But, she loves it there and she dresses up a lot so other than a lot of finger prints to clean it was a good idea!

  7. I was wondering if you could give me more info about the quilt on the bed. I see you got it from JYSK, but did you order it online? or is there a specific name for it that I could search the same quilt online?

    TIA

the whole room is super cute!

    1. It was at the actual store and on sale when I got it. I have no idea what it's called and it's been more than 3 years now since I got it! Sorry I can't be of more help!
